Copies of divorce records can be obtained from the Circuit Court. Marriage records can be requested from the Michigan Division for Vital Records. Birth and death records are also available from Vital Records.

You can submit an open records request for other county records. An open records request is simply an official request to view particular public government or agency documents. There is a portal through the county website to search most records online. If you cannot locate a record, you can request records through the FOIA Specialist.

Deeds, which are legal documents regarding the ownership of property or legal rights, can be obtained from the County Clerk, too. In this county, the Clerk also functions as the Register of Deeds. Deed records can be found online through the County Clerk’s website.
